The Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve is in the  30 Thousand Islands area of Georgian Bay, one of over 500 United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) biospheres throughout the world and currently one of only 13 in Canada. The Georgian Coast Trail is partnering on a number of initiatives with the Biosphere.
